Any requests for funding must come within our charitable objects, which are to support the work of the Christian Church both in the UK and internationally.

There are no formal upper or lower limits on the amount that can be applied for. Most grants are between £1000 and £10,000. Higher lever and / or longer term grants develop out of close involvement with the recipient church or organisation.

All active grants are reviewed annually. Most grants are for one year. Some run for as long as three years.

Yes, but we only make grants through UK registered charities.

The following is a list of grant requests that we would not support:
• Requests to support individuals.
• Funds for core costs within an organisation – there are exceptions to this in cases where we are closely involved with the charity concerned.
• Building works – construction or repairs work. The only exceptions to this are where the grantee has asked for no more than £1000 and they have demonstrated that the impact will be significant.
• Feasibility studies and social research.
• Appeals or circulars.
• Campaigning / lobbying activities.
• Retrospective funding requests – i.e. we only support applications for forthcoming projects

The following is a list of criteria that we use when assessing an application:
• It is helpful to supply a detailed budget breakdown showing how the money will be spent.
• Impact measurement: we like to see clearly defined projected outcomes from the activity with measurable targets.
• We believe it is good practice to look for other sources of funding. If 50% or more of the funds for the total project have been raised elsewhere, this increases the likelihood of our supporting the grant.

We do not acknowledge receipt of the application, however, we do respond to all applications received via email or letter. We run a small, family trust so we do not guarantee that we will get back within a specific timeframe. We usually respond within 3 months.

Grants are reviewed in the office. Decisions to commit funds are brought to trustee meetings on a quarterly basis.

No, you can apply for funds throughout the year. If all of the funds have been committed for the year, we will close the grant application process on the website. We announce when it is due to reopen.

If your grant application is unsuccessful because it does not fit our eligibility criteria, we ask that you do not reapply in the future, unless the reason given for rejection of the grant can be addressed.

If your grant is approved, we ask for you for bank details as we only pay monies by telegraphic transfer. We will also ask you to sign a Grant Agreement Form.

The Grant Agreement Form stipulates that you commit to using the funds for the agreed activity. It also requires you to fill in and return our ‘Grant Impact Form’ at the completion of the activity.
